COPD is a progressive lung disease and a leading cause of disability and death in our country. COPD causes a significant burden on people with COPD, their families and the health care system. COPD is responsible for significant indirect and direct costs to our health care system and to the individuals living with COPD and their families. Through the instruction provided, health care professionals can promote improved COPD self-management and help reduce related health care costs
